Park Commission refers Fowler Oil donation for proposed Veterans Memorial Park and accepts bench gift

The referral means the planning commission will review the offer and decide whether to accept the parcel and advance any land‑use approvals; no final decision on the park conversion was made at the Park Commission meeting. The commission’s action was limited to forwarding Fowler Oil’s letter and request for planning review.
At the same meeting, Park Commissioner Dave Carlson moved to accept a donation from the Mckeeth family of a park bench to be placed near the basketball court in Cance Park. Commissioner Linda Skwierawski seconded; the motion carried and the commission approved placement of the bench at the stated location.
The commission also approved the minutes from its March 6, 2025 meeting following a motion by Dave Carlson and a second from Linda Skwierawski. Park Commissioner Kelly Kreger moved to adjourn later in the meeting; Skwierawski seconded and the meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
