Selectmen approve June minutes, town meeting warning and refer Habitat for Humanity property sale to planning

At the July 13 special meeting the board approved the June 15 meeting minutes, approved the town meeting warning for July 21, 2026, and approved an 8-24 referral to planning so Habitat for Humanity can complete the closing on two lots at 131 Whippoorwill Road.
The Old Lyme Board of Selectmen moved through several routine items during the July 13 special meeting. The board unanimously approved the minutes of its June 15 regular meeting.
The board also approved a corrected town meeting warning to be published for the July 21, 2026 town meeting after one minor wording change. The selectmen voted to approve the warning so it could be placed in the newspaper as required.
Separately, staff notified the board that closing on two lots at 131 Whippoorwill Road for Habitat for Humanity could not proceed because a required 8-24 referral form was never filed following an earlier town meeting action. The board approved the 8-24 referral to planning so the missing paperwork can be completed and the closing can move forward.
Each of these items was recorded for the meeting minutes; the board said the relevant correspondence would be included in the minutes package.
