Student government representative Reese updated the board that the winter formal was canceled this month because of limited decorations and prizes; the event will be postponed and rebranded as a spring carnival.
Reese told the board student government completed a food drive that was delivered to the Department of Labor and Education and that the senior class won the competition. Reese also said student government will form a committee to prepare a bid to host the 2027 ALSAL conference, with the bid due in April.
Quote: “So it’ll be a spring carnival,” Reese said, noting the group will organize logistics and work on the April bidding deadline.
The student representative left early for a shared practice; board members asked clarifying questions about the bid timeline and whether the hosting would be next year while the bid is due this year. Reese confirmed the district would host next year but that the bid deadline was this spring.
