"Back in December, we approved the original with a caveat that we have line 16 or section 16 of the inmate housing relooked at when it talks about medical services and what's the responsibility of the city," Chief Ziegler said, describing how the sheriff and staff updated the language.
Chief Ziegler said the agreement is a year‑to‑year arrangement that self‑renews unless changed; cost changes would prompt a return to the commission. Commissioner Rohrer moved to approve the updated inmate housing agreement; Commissioner Sjoberg seconded the motion. On roll call the motion carried; commissioners thanked staff, the sheriff's office and county partners for assistance drafting the revised language.
The commission approved the updated agreement on the record; staff thanked partner agencies and attorneys for their work and said they would proceed with implementation under the revised terms.
