The Pleasant Prairie Village Board approved a resolution initiating a change of the official address for a parcel currently associated with a vacated portion of 110th Street to an address on 116th Avenue to align with the Inspire Prairie Springs development.
Staff presented the request, saying the 110th Street segment was vacated in 2018 and the property's address has not been formally changed since. "We are just going through that, and initiating that process here tonight," a village staff member said, noting the change would connect the property to the 116th Avenue alignment under the Inspire Prairie Springs project.
The staff member said the proposal will go to the plan commission for review; if the commission recommends it favorably, the matter will return to the village board for a public hearing. He also said the property owner supports the change and staff is supportive.
A board member moved to approve the resolution and the motion carried by voice vote. The resolution was identified in the agenda as Resolution 25-21; staff said the address change process will proceed through the plan commission and then a public hearing if recommended.
The board did not record detailed individual votes on the record for the resolution; the action was taken by voice vote. The change is intended to align official addressing with the new roadway and development pattern for the Inspire Prairie Springs project.
