Commission awards Street Improvement District 241 contract to Strata and approves related engineering oversight amendments
Summary
Following bid openings, commissioners awarded the SID 241 construction contract to Strata Corporation and approved amendments to engineering oversight contracts (Moore Engineering and KLJ/HDR amendments discussed separately) to provide construction administration and oversight.
Staff reported two bids were opened for Street Improvement District 241, near Red Trail Elementary, and recommended awarding the construction contract to Strata Corporation after that low bid came in nearly 4% under the engineer's estimate. The commission moved, seconded and approved the award and a corresponding amendment to Moore Engineering for construction oversight and contract administration.
Separately during the meeting commissioners also approved an amendment to the HDR engineering agreement for construction oversight on the west half of the Memorial Highway project and approved entering into an agreement with KLJ for construction oversight and public engagement on 1st Street improvements (SID 236 Phase 1). Staff said these amendments and agreements were anticipated in the project cost estimates and would add construction oversight services as projects move from design to construction.
Commissioners approved the Strata award and the engineering contract amendments by unanimous roll call.
