Plover Plan Commission recommends Portage County SS4A bicycle and pedestrian safety plan to Village Board

The Village of Plover Plan Commission on May 18 recommended that the Village Board endorse the Portage County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan — Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan.
Staff member Karmen Anderson presented the plan to the commission, describing recommendations, identified areas of concern and a set of short‑term, mid‑term and long‑term action items intended to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety across the county. Anderson framed the presentation as a review of the plan’s proposed safety actions and priority areas rather than as a Village‑specific project.
Following the presentation, Plan Commission member Chris Shulfer moved to recommend approval of the SS4A Safety Action Plan to the Village Board; Plan Commission member Steve Worzella seconded the motion and it carried. The commission’s vote was a recommendation to the Village Board, which retains final authority.
The commission’s action transmits the plan and staff’s recommendation for consideration at the next Village Board meeting. No formal Village Board action was taken at the Plan Commission meeting.
