Trustees approved a new three‑year license agreement with JZMBA Enterprises LLC (operator John Zemba) for the Lake Andrea Beer Garden at Prairie Springs Park, after a staff presentation highlighting the operator's inaugural season and community support.
Tom (staff) described the proposed term as three years with an option for a one‑year extension. Under the revised terms, peak‑season rent will increase from $2,000 (or 12% of gross sales) to $2,500 per month (or 13% of gross sales) for each of the three primary years; the optional extension year would be $2,750 or 13% of gross sales. The agreement adds a social media and marketing section and notifies the licensee that the beer garden could be relocated within Prairie Springs Park consistent with the recently adopted park master plan.
John Zemba, the operator, thanked the board and said he hoped to continue and expand events in future seasons. Trustees who spoke praised the operation and staff work, and the board approved the agreement unanimously.
The board directed staff to finalize the agreement with the modifications identified during the meeting.
