District leaders updated the board on facilities, personnel and planning at the June 22 meeting.
Superintendent (reported) said administration visited Zeeland School and that bids for three buses would be opened; he described ongoing building repairs, windshield replacements, locker‑room work, painting, touchups and installation of new carpet in a classroom. Administration continues 3–5‑year planning work and is conducting new‑hire orientation.
The principal reported the district had been awarded a $15,000 dyslexia grant and that teacher training is planned to support implementation. The principal also summarized that students and staff recently returned from a Washington, D.C. trip and that several staff members will attend conferences over the summer.
On staffing, the board recorded that the upper elementary position had been filled: Katie Friederichs has accepted the position for the second semester; first‑semester coverage will be provided by Shirley Anderson and Susan Quittschreiber. The board made these personnel approvals as part of its routine business votes.
