Randleman approves $213,730 brush truck purchase; ABC Board budget reported in good standing

The Randleman Board of Aldermen on Aug. 6 approved the purchase of a sanitation brush truck after reviewing three bids and a finance recommendation. Public Works Director Brian Crawford obtained three quotes: Mack at $230,000, Freightliner at $230,000, and International at $213,730. Finance Director Ms. Sechriest told the board "the money was available to purchase the truck without financing and paying interest fees and that was her recommendation." Alderwoman Melissa Allred Blalock moved to accept the lowest responsible bid from International at $213,730; Alderwoman Kimmy Williams seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Interim City Manager Shain Sexton also reported that the ABC Board submitted its fiscal year 2024-25 budget; Mr. Hardison, president of the ABC Board, met with Sexton and Sexton said the ABC Board was in good standing with the city and that all funds had been accounted for. A copy of the ABC Board budget was included in the board's agenda packet.
The minutes do not record financing terms beyond the bid amounts or any additional conditions attached to the procurement; the board recorded the acceptance of the International bid and the ABC Board report in the meeting minutes.
