Blaine Anderson read the oath of office and was seated as the newest member of the Mapleton School Board during the Aug. 25, 2025 meeting at the school cafeteria.
Vice President Luke Steckler moved to approve the July 2025 minutes; Justin Cole seconded the motion and the board carried it. Steckler then moved to approve the July 2025 financial report; Brandon Runck seconded and the motion carried.
The board voted to amend Policy GACB (Patriotic Exercises) after a motion by Vice President Luke Steckler and a second from Board Member Blaine Anderson. The board also approved an amendment to Policy FFK (Suspension and Expulsion) on motion by Steckler with Anderson seconding; both motions were recorded as carried.
Several other policies were presented for initial review. Policy KADA (Weapons Prohibition and School Property), Policy GABE (Human Trafficking and Exploitation Prevention) and Policy ACCB (Protection for Student Victims and Sexual Offenses) received first readings and were scheduled for second readings at the board’s September meeting.
No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the meeting text; the minutes state each motion was “carried.” The board set its next regular meetings for Sept. 8 and Oct. 13, with a finance meeting scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.
The actions taken at the meeting were procedural and policy updates; no new budget appropriations or contracts were finalized at this session.
