Board approves Pizza Hut lunch contract, adopts first readings of policies and enters executive session (no action taken)
Summary
The board awarded the high-school lunchtime pizza contract to Pizza Hut after a sealed bid process, adopted first readings of Policy 26-20 and Policy 35-10 (and associated procedures), and entered an executive session under Idaho Code §74-206(f) to consult counsel; after returning the board said no action would be taken.
At the July 13 meeting the Caldwell School District board took several formal actions on routine business and policy readings.
Bids for the district’s lunch pizza offering were advertised twice; two responses were received and the district recommended Pizza Hut at the lower price. Trustee Manuel Godinez moved to accept the Pizza Hut bid for the high-school lunch program (high school Monday–Friday; Canyon Springs Fridays); the motion was seconded and carried.
Later the board voted to adopt the first readings of Policy 26-20 (grading), Policy 35-10 (student medicines), Procedure 35-70P and Procedure 26-20P. The motion to adopt the first readings was moved by Trustee Manuel Godinez, seconded and approved by the board; adoption at first reading moves the items forward for further review and implementation planning but does not finalize any classroom practice changes.
Near the end of the meeting the board voted to enter executive session under Idaho Code §74-206(f) to consult with legal counsel regarding pending or imminently likely litigation. The board took a roll call, met in executive session and upon returning moved that no action would be taken as a result of that session. The board then reviewed informational items (free summer meals and in-person registration dates) and adjourned.
