The Maple Valley School Board accepted multiple personnel changes at its March 11 meeting in Tower City.
The board voted to accept the resignation of Derek Bear as Student Council advisor. The motion to accept Bear’s resignation was made by Jennifer Koller and seconded by Dan Wendel; the minutes record the acceptance but do not specify an effective date for the resignation.
The board also accepted the resignation of Brandon Jenkins as a junior-high teacher effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year. That motion was made by Dan Wendel and seconded by Amanda Olauson.
Separately, the board approved a teaching contract for Mackenzie Motter for the 2026–2027 school year. The motion to approve Motter’s contract was made by Jennifer Koller and seconded by George Richman; the minutes record the result as "MCU" (motion carried unanimously).
No additional contract terms, salary figures or replacement plans are specified in the minutes. Committee meetings to address hiring and negotiations were scheduled for March 23.
