The Flat Rock Park Foundation told Village Council on June 11 that it is prepared to allocate $50,000 per year for three years to support a proposed Southside Park project, representing a potential $150,000 commitment. Tracey Daniels, the Foundation’s development director, read a board statement announcing the offer and said the Foundation will also help identify and pursue grant funding to support the project.
Vice Mayor Matt Toner and Foundation President Stephanie Winterrowd provided financial context: the Foundation’s May 2026 fund balance was $522,000, of which $486,000 is unrestricted. The Foundation reported recent reimbursements to the Village totaling approximately $100,000 this fiscal year (including a $72,022 fourth-quarter reimbursement) and an additional $193,260.86 reimbursement related to Dye Creek, bringing total reimbursements to the Village to approximately $293,000 for the fiscal year.
Council members discussed next steps and agreed by consensus that the Village should ask Equinox or other contractors to prepare a smaller-impact site plan for the Southside Project. Council Member Bass, Vice Mayor Toner and Tracey Daniels will meet to scope the next step and follow up with council.
