Aberdeen board accepts police resignations and approves two staff hires

Motions to hire were moved and seconded and carried on roll-call votes.
The board also approved travel requests tied to staff and elected officials: Alderman Nicholas Holliday to attend a policy conference in Tunica (Aug. 6–8) at a cost of $550, and Fire Chief Norris James to attend the Mississippi Municipal League annual conference in Biloxi (June 29–July 1). Those travel authorizations were approved on the board floor.
The minutes record that the board entered an executive session later in the meeting to discuss personnel issues concerning listed Aberdeen Police Department officers; no public action from that executive session is recorded in the minutes.
