Henkelman said the village is also reviewing a Haskett and Hamilton roadway improvement project likely to move forward in 2027, and that renovations at the Village Service Center began the prior Monday with an expected completion before winter. He said the village is working on a project page for each major project so the public can track timelines and budgets.
On Stillwater Crossing, Henkelman said he is trying to schedule a meeting with the developer for an update; council members raised concerns about high grass and weeds on the site and asked staff to request developer attention to those maintenance issues. Service Director Ben Herron told the council a survey is underway for Founders Park because property pins could not be located; crews plan to install gravel for an interim parking area and schedule contractors for fencing and a shade structure.
Henkelman also outlined a changed budget process aimed at more narrative explanation. He said department heads will meet in late July and early August to prepare materials, the finance committee (three council members and department heads) will meet in August, and the goal is to present a draft for council discussion in September and adopt the budget in December.
What happens next: Staff will continue project coordination and return monthly with updates; the village manager will prepare budget materials in time for finance committee review and the council's fall budget schedule.
