Council considered and adopted amended Strategic Priorities for 2025–2030 after staff presented updates aligning proposed budget items with timing, sequencing and funding realities. On river planning, Council discussed applying for a $75,000 Land and Water Fund (LWF) planning grant to study Mayo River issues including water-supply infrastructure, dam-removal alternatives and restoration concepts. Council approved a Resolution of Endorsement authorizing a request for $56,250 from LWF with a required Town match of $18,750; the motion carried unanimously.
Council also confirmed an appointment to the Madison–Mayodan Recreation Commission. Motion by Councilmember Doug Cardwell, seconded by Councilmember John Miller, appointed Ross Vaden; the vote was unanimous.
