The Village of Sanford council on July 13 approved two significant public-works procurements: a $125,452 bid for mill-and-fill work on Peterson and Smith roads and an $8,000 Airworks bid to install a Mits MSZ-GX36NL air conditioner at the DPW building.
Marcus Thrush moved both procurement motions. The air-conditioner purchase (Airworks, $8,000) passed 4–1; Carl Hamann was recorded as the lone no vote. The mill-and-fill contract for Peterson and Smith — to be done in collaboration with Jerome Township — also passed 4–1, with Don Whaley recorded as the lone no vote. Council minutes record that the mill-and-fill bid total is $125,452.
The council also approved payment of bills totaling $76,755.37 at the same meeting. Council members framed the road project as part of routine maintenance and improvement; Thompson Township collaboration was listed in the motion as a coordinating partner for the mill-and-fill work.
Procurement outcomes will move the projects into implementation, subject to scheduling and any necessary coordination with Jerome Township.
