Milford City Council approves engagement letter, urban renewal hearings, Teamsters contract and FY2027 pay measures

The Milford City Council on June 22 approved a package of administrative and fiscal actions, voting unanimously on each item.
Council approved an engagement letter with the law firm Dorsey & Whitney. The council also adopted resolutions setting public hearing dates for the proposed expansion of the Milford Urban Renewal Area (Milford South Industrial Urban Renewal Area, Resolution 26-31) and for the designation of the 2026 Harvest Hills Urban Renewal Area and its Urban Renewal Plan and project (Resolution 26-32).
The council approved Resolution 26-33, which ratifies the contract between the City of Milford and Teamsters Local #554. The body also approved Resolution 26-34 (health plan participation agreements); Resolution 26-35 (fire department wages for FY2027); Resolution 26-36 (employee salaries and wages for FY2027); and Resolution 26-37 (write-off of certain delinquent utility accounts). Council approved several transfers: Resolution 26-38 (transfer funds for UMB withdrawal, June 2026); Resolution 26-39 (transfer TIF funds for June 2026); and Resolution 26-40 (transfer funds for FY2026). All resolutions passed on roll call votes with Hinshaw, Carney, Hoffman, Arndt and Mohni voting aye.
The consent agenda approved earlier in the meeting included routine vendor payments and TIF disbursements; the Accounts Payable total reported on the consent list was $240,135.06. No votes failed or were recorded as opposed during the June 22 meeting.
