Max School Board approves August financials and vendor payments totaling $26,305; OKs autopay setup

The Max Board of Education approved the district’s August financial statements and payments at its Aug. 20 meeting, voting 5-0 to accept checks and invoices covering the General Fund/Building, Food Service and Activity Fund.
Board member Dennis Erickson moved to approve the financial reports and payment of bills; Holly Sobieck seconded. The board recorded a General Fund/Building total of $26,305.18, a Food Service total of $3,322.29 and an Activity Fund total of $2,588.11. Vendors listed in the minutes included Dakota Paper, Max Farm Services, Cengage Learning, Zenz Auto and JP Morgan, among others.
The board also approved setting up autopayment for Ottertail, MDU, RTC and JP Morgan, with the district continuing to review bills as part of regular oversight. That action was recorded by the minutes as approved by the board; no individual mover was listed for the autopay setup.
Separately, the board voted 5-0 to accept a financial report identified in the minutes as the “MAX 50” financial report and to transmit it as presented.
The board did not debate the substance of the invoices during the meeting; members framed the vote as routine approval of monthly finances. The board adjourned at 7:10 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16 at 5:45 p.m., with a public tax hearing on Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
