The Marshville Town Council conducted interviews and made appointments to two boards at its Jan. 20 meeting.
Manager Franklin Deese introduced two applicants for the ABC Board. Kristi Henry spoke to the council and was appointed to a three-year term after a motion by Mayor Pro-tem Ernestine Staton and a second by Member Paulette Blakeney; the council approved the appointment (all ayes).
The council considered a second applicant, Council Member Stephen Passarelli. The council moved not to appoint Passarelli; the motion passed (all ayes) and Member Passarelli was recused from the vote.
For the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment, Manager Deese noted one applicant could not attend. Colette Finnegan spoke and the council appointed her to finish a term ending June 30, 2026 (motion by Rusty Johnson, seconded by Mayor Pro-tem Staton; all ayes). Staff will reschedule the missed interview for the absent applicant.
