Milnor council approves bank depository, permits and bills; adjourns

At its Jan. 12 meeting the Milnor City Council handled routine finance and permitting business, including selecting a bank depository, approving activity permits and approving accounts payable and payroll.
The council approved Stock Growers Bank as the city depository for 2026 (motion by Councilmember Denise Ferderer, seconded by Glen Koeppe) and accepted the bank’s pledge of securities report for the period ending Dec. 31, 2025 (motion Ost/Ferderer). The council also approved a 2026 yearly alcohol and Sunday opening permit for Milnor Market and an off-site alcohol permit for The Schoolhouse/Weston Gregor Benefit on Feb. 8 at the MACC (motion Ferderer/Odegard).
Gaming permits were approved for the Milnor Satellite Club (Super Bowl boards) and the Milnor Scholarship Association (raffle) (motion Ost/Smith). Council reviewed and approved the list of claims and payroll presented during the meeting, which included multiple checks and payroll transactions across general, debt service and payroll funds. Detailed check and payroll listings were entered into the minutes.
The council set its next regular meeting for Monday, Feb. 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned by motion of Jodi Ost seconded by Denise Ferderer.
