The Milnor City Council on Jan. 12 approved a Renaissance Zone (RZ) project application that will allow homeowner Scott Goolsbey to rehabilitate his home and construct a garage at 322 6th Street.
Carol Peterson reviewed the economic development report and presented the finalized RZ application. The council voted to approve the application by motion of Councilmember Jodi Ost, seconded by Councilmember Jasmine Smith. The motion carried unanimously.
City documents provided in the meeting record identify the property as Lots 14-15, Block 26, City of Milnor, Sargent County (Parcel #25-7615000) and place it in Renaissance Zone Block 17A. The agenda did not specify project funding sources, timeline for work, or any conditions attached to approval.
By approving the RZ application the council authorized the local step in the Renaissance Zone process; any tax-credit certification, incentives or program oversight that depend on county or state processes were not discussed during the meeting. The council did not indicate a construction start date.
The council's next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2026.
