Mercer officials review state audit records showing delinquencies for 2018 and 2023

At the Feb. 13 City of Mercer meeting Mayor Lori Stute reviewed information from a website provided by Kathy Schon indicating that the city’s state audit records show delinquent filings for 2018 and 2023.
Mayor Stute said she pulled up the state audit site and that 2019–2022 filings were received, with 2019 viewable as a PDF online. She stated that 2018 and 2023 were listed as delinquent and that Auditor Tonya Wellington is working to locate information for 2018. Randy Zinke questioned a comment implying the city was six years delinquent; the council clarified that only 2018 and 2023 are delinquent and that work is ongoing to assemble missing records.
The council did not take a formal vote on the audit issue during the meeting; next steps recorded were continued work by the auditor to locate records.
