New Plaistow recreation director outlines plans to expand programs and serve all ages

Jacqueline Nee, who said she has been with Plaistow for two months, introduced herself to the Board of Selectmen on March 2 and outlined a plan to expand the town’s recreation offerings.
Nee said summer program registrations filled 84 available slots within about 30 minutes and that her goal is to increase capacity to 100. She described planned trips to state water parks to provide recreation opportunities in a town without a public water body, and said she is coordinating senior activities with Elder Affairs and the public library. Previous events under her supervision included a magician show with about 85 attendees and movie nights of roughly 50.
Nee said she is working closely with town staff, including Selectman Tyler Schormann and colleague Carlie, and is lining up vendors and venues for the summer concert series. She summarized the program’s emphasis as broad and intergenerational: “Recreation is not just for children, it is for toddlers to seniors,” she said.
The board took no formal vote on recreation funding at the March 2 meeting; Selectmen thanked Nee and encouraged outreach to expand participation and volunteer support.
