Navajo Preparatory School board approves ICIP, renews advisory contract and greenlights personnel changes

The Navajo Preparatory School, Inc. Board unanimously approved several routine and planning items during its July 24, 2024 meeting in Washington, D.C.
The board voted 4‑0‑0 to adopt the FY 2026–2030 Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) after a presentation by Head of School Shawna A. Becenti. Vice President Sherrick Roanhorse moved approval and Dr. Bernadette Todacheene seconded.
The board also voted 4‑0‑0 to renew a contract with RMA Advisory LLC; Becenti reviewed the renewal and Vice President Roanhorse thanked RMA Advisory for its work with the school.
In personnel business, Division Director Manuel Watchman reviewed memos documenting resignations and new hires. The board moved and approved Items A–B covering those personnel memos, vote recorded 4‑0‑0.
Earlier in the meeting, the board approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from the June 13 and June 26, 2024 meetings (each vote recorded as 3‑0‑0). The meeting was called to order by Vice President Sherrick Roanhorse at 6:44 p.m. and adjourned by President Anderson Yazzie Jr. at 8:42 p.m.
The board set its next regular meeting for Aug. 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Navajo Preparatory School.
