Jackie read a public comment from Josh Wilson urging the board to remove a drop-off/pickup listing at 760 Starlight because a nearby resident at that address is a registered offender: "I believe the bus route for drop off and pickup should not be listed at 760 Starlight Bridal. As across the street is a person listed as a ****** offender, I believe. It should be moved further up the road away from that individual's house." The comment was entered as public input and read into the record.
Mr. Kinsey and staff said they would follow up with Julie (district routing staff) and share what adjustments, if any, could be made; the board noted routes are routinely updated and that future changes could be brought back for approval. One trustee recorded a dissenting vote requesting more information before approving.
Despite the concern, the motion to approve the proposed routes for the 2026–27 school year carried; staff said they would provide details from routing staff and any subsequent adjustments would be reported back to the board.
