The Village of North Palm Beach Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board approved a site-plan change on March 3 to add a front-door awning at Faith Lutheran Care Center, 301 Ebbtide Drive, intended to provide weather protection for wheelchair users.
Ivan Medugorac, representing Faith Lutheran Care Center, described the awning as an accessibility measure to provide “ADA/wheelchair weather shelter” at the building entrance. Planner Alondra Lopez-Mojica presented staff findings that the proposed awning complies with the board’s appearance-plan criteria and is consistent with existing awnings on the site. Village Attorney Leonard Rubin administered the quasi-judicial oath to witnesses before testimony.
Member Thomas Hogarth moved to approve the application “as submitted.” Vice-Chair Jonathan Haigh seconded the motion. The board voted 6-0 to approve the site plan; Member Cory Cross was recorded as absent. The transcript records no public comment on the item.
The approval authorizes installation of the awning as reviewed by staff; the transcript does not specify construction timeline, contractor, or funding sources. The board also approved the meeting minutes from Jan. 6, 2026, during the same session. The Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board is scheduled to meet next on April 7, 2026.
