Autumn Grdina, Chair of the Recreation Department, and Jessica Hinckley, Chair, reviewed logistics during the April 21 meeting. The Congregational Church will provide food at the event. The minutes also note that the Recreation Committee will distribute door tags over the next few weeks to promote the gala.
Organizers discussed coordination with outside heritage and civic groups. The minutes indicate a request for clarification from the America 250 Committee about gratuities or costs for the Sons of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Revolution; those costs were not specified in the minutes. Fish & Game plans to operate a black-powder shooting range from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the green and requested a table; Meg Backer offered to promote that activity in the War Memorial area.
The committee also reviewed staging needs for performances and tent requirements for displays. Meg Backer said one resident may have items available to display; she will coordinate further. Jessica Hinckley is expected to confirm tent logistics with Ben, who is involved in the stage work. The committee’s next meeting is May 19, when organizers expect to finalize remaining vendor and volunteer details.
