Temple ISD honors community partner and introduces new principals and assistants

The Temple ISD board formally recognized community partners and introduced new district leaders at its July meeting.
The board presented a "Friend of Temple ISD" recognition to the Ralph Wilson Youth Club for sustained youth programming and partnership with district families. Speakers praised the club’s summer programs, student engagement and community partnerships.
The superintendent’s leadership award honored a district librarian credited with revitalizing reading programs, securing grants and launching a student anthology project. Board members and staff recounted increased library visits and districtwide librarian leadership across campuses.
Personnel introductions followed: the board introduced new hires including Michelle Wooden (assistant principal, Scott Elementary), Brian Hernandez (principal, Lamar Middle School), and other administrators assigned to campuses including Travis and Temple High School; presenters noted prior affiliations and in some cases Temple graduation among hires.
The board approved routine consent items earlier in the meeting, and directors thanked the community and staff for their partnerships.
