The Utica City Council adopted a detailed schedule of sewer and water rates for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, voting unanimously June 9 to make the changes effective for billing periods beginning in July 2026.
Council reviewed ready‑to‑serve charges by meter size and a consumption charge of $6.87 (water) and $12.17 (sewer) per 1,000 gallons, combined consumption charge of $19.04 per 1,000 gallons. The council’s motion to adopt the rates was moved by Councilmember Terenzi and seconded by Councilmember Dionne and passed on a roll‑call vote with all ayes.
The council also adopted the Sewer and Water Fund budget for FY2027 in the same action. Treasurer Philip Paternoster noted the rates and fund budget were set to be effective for July billing cycles; no public opposition to the rates was recorded during the meeting.
The changes affect utility customers citywide starting with next month’s billing cycle.
