Dean Carter of 340 Texas Road told the Board of Commissioners that the stretch of Texas Road between Community Center Circle and Lookout Road is a safety hazard because drivers speed and on-street parking narrows the roadway. "There is an increase in on-street parking, which contributes to the safety hazard due to the narrowness of the roadway," Carter said during the public forum.
Carter suggested converting that portion of Texas Road to one-way traffic to reduce risk. Mayor Tim Helms asked Carter to give his contact information to Police Chief Jeff Eaton for follow-up, indicating town staff would look into the safety concern.
