Lyme Select Board approves manifests, equipment purchases and accepts Fire Chief Aaron Rich’s resignation

The Lyme Select Board on April 28 approved two manifests totaling $750,327.31 and $23,649.09, authorized several fire-department expenditures and accepted Fire Chief Aaron Rich’s resignation effective May 31, 2026.
David Kahn, a Select Board member, moved to approve the two manifests; Benjamin Kilham seconded and the board voted unanimously to approve the warrants. Kahn also moved to approve an emergency vehicle repair payment of $5,301.55 from the Emergency Vehicle Repair Capital Reserve Fund to cover work on the department’s E1 Typhoon; Kilham seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board approved a $8,135.20 quote for Motorola radios intended for the new fire truck after a motion by Michael Hinsley and a second by David Kahn. The board signed a previously approved mowing contract with Lyme Lawn Care.
On tax matters the board accepted the assessor’s recommendation for 131 River Road, reducing the assessment by $6,600 to $597,900, and granted an abatement of $1,442.37 plus interest for 772 River Road; both motions were approved unanimously. The board also approved timber-related filings: an intent to cut for Map 418 Lot 3, a Report of Wood Cut for Map 421 Lot 20 totaling $1,491.45, a Report of Wood Cut for Map 415 Lot 22, and an updated Forest Stewardship Application for Map 409 Lot 28. All forestry motions were moved by Kahn and seconded by Hinsley, and passed unanimously.
The board heard a brief update from Kahn on drone imaging and clean-up work at 116 Dorchester Road and recorded a reminder from Administrator Dina Cutting to schedule a future appointment with Dartmouth Skiway to review the town’s 2002 agreement with Dartmouth.
After returning from two non-public sessions held under RSA 91-A:3 II(c) (reputation) and RSA 91-A:3 II(l) (legal), the board reviewed and accepted a resignation letter from Fire Chief Aaron Rich, with the resignation effective May 31, 2026. The motion to accept the resignation, moved by Kahn and seconded by Kilham, passed unanimously.
