The clerk read the monthly accounts-payable register, listing payees and amounts including Appalachian Power ($1,473.19), Truist Governmental Finance ($20,155.65) and Utility Service Company ($11,612.66), with a grand total of $62,004.94 for this period.
On taxes, the clerk reported that conversions for real-estate and personal-property data are complete and that bills are being checked before printing. "I have got everything, everything is loaded in my system," the clerk said, and added the plan is to have bills at the printer by the end of the week so they can be mailed by the end of the month. The clerk also noted that the anticipated due date is Feb. 28, which would provide approximately 60 days for payment after mailing.
Councilors asked routine clarifying questions about dates and timing; no financial policy decisions or additional appropriations were approved during this meeting.
