Winter Harbor selectmen approve warrants, sign Historical Society deed and appoint utilities trustee

The board approved the Special Town Meeting minutes of April 22 and the Selectmen meeting minutes of April 22, and approved Warrants #50 (dated April 28) and #51 (dated May 1). The Treasurer’s Report dated May 1, 2026, was accepted. The Tax Collector’s Report dated May 1 was also accepted; the minutes list taxes receivable of $342,681.50 for fiscal 2026 and $13,690.19 for fiscal 2025.
Selectmen approved and signed the warrant for the upcoming Town Meeting. They agreed to defer renewing a 6-month certificate of deposit until staff can compare the CD’s rate with the town’s sweep account. The board voted to cancel the June 29, 2026, Selectmen meeting (vote recorded 3-0).
The board also moved and approved a right-of-way deed for the Winter Harbor Historical Society (approved 3-0). In the same action block the board appointed Earl Blackney to the Utilities District Board of Trustees; that appointment was recorded as 3-0. The minutes do not record who made or seconded specific motions beyond the recorded outcomes.
Public comments during the meeting included praise for recently installed benches and a question about the level of outstanding taxes; Selectmen noted the tax receivables as recorded in the Tax Collector’s Report. The meeting adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
