The Town of Winter Harbor Selectmen on March 23 approved routine financial items and several town policies, and authorized an insurer-approved ice-skating rink on town property.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the board that the town’s insurer has approved installation of an ice-skating rink provided the town posts proper rules and signage. The motion to allow the skate rink was made, seconded and approved by a recorded vote of 3-0.
The board also approved the Selectmen meeting minutes of March 9, 2026, and accepted Warrant #43 (dated March 17, 2026) and Warrant #44 (dated March 19, 2026), each by recorded votes of 3-0. The Treasurer’s Report dated March 20, 2026, and the Tax Collector’s Report dated March 20, 2026, were accepted by the board (each 3-0). The minutes record account and tax balances presented to the board: Trio-General Ledger balance $808,142.90; a six-month certificate of deposit $107,539.29; taxes receivable listed as FY26 $102,202.91 and FY25 $13,690.19.
The board approved a new Meeting Place Policy as written (motion passed 3-0), and approved presented carry-over accounts and an Acceptable Use Agreement for Cyber Security (each approved 3-0). The board tabled consideration of a proposed 'Text My Gov' program and requested additional information for the next meeting.
