Westchase Community Association board elects new officers after contested votes

Debbie Sainz, the association’s community association manager (CAM), called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. The roll call listed directors and management staff; those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
In the first contested action, Rick Goldstein moved to appoint Terry Boyd as president, seconded by Nancy Sells. The motion failed with a recorded tally of 3-4; the minutes include the parenthetical names (Jessica, Theresa, Jack, Michiel). Jack Maurer then moved to appoint Michiel Oostenbrink as president, seconded by Theresa Lanzar; the minutes record that motion as passing 5-2.
Board members debated the vice president slot. Rick Goldstein’s motion to appoint Nancy Sells as vice president was seconded by Terry Boyd and failed 3-4 (minutes parenthetically list Jessica, Theresa, Jack, Michiel). The meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m. Nancy Sells later signed the minutes as secretary.
