The Westchase Community Association board held its organizational meeting Sept. 12 at 10049 Parley Dr., where directors appointed officers and committee representatives following a series of contested votes.
Debbie Sainz, the association’s community association manager (CAM), called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. The roll call listed directors and management staff; those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
In the first contested action, Rick Goldstein moved to appoint Terry Boyd as president, seconded by Nancy Sells. The motion failed with a recorded tally of 3-4; the minutes include the parenthetical names (Jessica, Theresa, Jack, Michiel). Jack Maurer then moved to appoint Michiel Oostenbrink as president, seconded by Theresa Lanzar; the minutes record that motion as passing 5-2.
Board members debated the vice president slot. Rick Goldstein’s motion to appoint Nancy Sells as vice president was seconded by Terry Boyd and failed 3-4 (minutes parenthetically list Jessica, Theresa, Jack, Michiel). A subsequent motion from Jack Maurer, seconded by Jessica Siddle, to appoint Theresa Lanzar as vice president passed 5-2.
The board considered the treasurer role after an initial nomination that was declined. The minutes record that Nancy Sells and Jessica Siddle both respectfully declined nominations for treasurer; a motion by Michiel Oostenbrink, seconded by Theresa Lanzar, to appoint Terry Boyd as treasurer then passed unanimously, 7-0. A motion to appoint Nancy Sells as secretary, moved by Rick Goldstein and seconded by Theresa Lanzar, also carried 7-0.
The board appointed committee representatives by unanimous votes: Terry Boyd moved, and Nancy Sells seconded, to appoint Rick Goldstein as GAC VP member (passed 7-0), and Michiel Oostenbrink moved, Jack Maurer seconded, to appoint Jessica Siddle as WOW member (passed 7-0).
The meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m. Nancy Sells later signed the minutes as secretary.
The minutes reflect the procedural outcomes and vote tallies as recorded; where the minutes list parenthetical names with a motion’s tally, those names were preserved from the minutes rather than being reassigned to a specific yes/no column by this account.
