Westchase board approves auditor contract, clears records for destruction and defers door repairs

At the Aug. 8 Westchase Community Association board meeting, the board approved several administrative and procedural items.
Association Manager Debbie Sainz compiled a box-by-box list of stored records and, after legal counsel reviewed which records could be destroyed under the association’s Destruction of Records Policy, the board voted 6-0 (motion by Shawn Yesner; second by Rick Goldstein) to destroy the boxes counsel approved while excluding the box containing contractor files.
The board also reviewed quotes for activity-room glass entry-door repairs from Blanton Doors, Atlas Door Repair and Mr Handyman. Because the quotes differed and questions remain about the specific hardware, the board moved the item to the Sept. 5 board meeting for further review (item presented by facility manager Dwight Kilgore).
Coach Patrick, owner of Pipeline, requested the board consider permitting Pipeline to operate a Masters Swim Program at Countryway; the board asked Coach Patrick to work with the Swim & Tennis Committee to collect additional information for the Sept. 5 meeting. Separately, the board approved the Affinity CPA proposal for audit services covering audit years 2025–2027 (motion by Michiel Oostenbrink; second by Jack Maurer); that motion carried 6-0.
