At the July 15 meeting the Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners approved multiple personnel actions and a contract for youth treatment services.
The board approved the appointment of Adam Lawrence to the county Zoning Board of Appeals. Commissioners also voted to refill an animal control officer position and authorized the Municipal Employees' Retirement System (MERS) to permit Deputy Ryan Hall to purchase 12 months of service credit; both motions carried 6-0.
The board approved a contract with Father Flanagan's Boys' Home (Boystown) for youth treatment services on a 6-0 roll-call vote; the transcript does not include contract dollar amounts or program details.
Separately, the board approved staffing replacements in the probate and family courts: a Deputy Probate Register (grade 5), a part-time Guardian ad Litem (grade 3), a Family Court Financial Advisor (grade 5) and a Register (grade 4). Those motions carried without recorded opposition.
The board will rely on Human Resources and the relevant courts and departments to complete hiring and contract-execution steps.
The meeting adjourned at 5:52 p.m.
