Linden council adopts budget amendments and approves 2026 tax request

The Linden City Council on Monday approved a set of fiscal adjustments and formalized the city’s 2026 tax request.
City Manager Ellen Glass reviewed Resolution No. 10-26, explaining the amendments are intended to reconcile the fiscal year 2025–2026 budget before year end. After brief discussion and no public comment, Councilor Denise Miller moved to accept the resolution, and Councilor Brad Dick seconded. The motion passed on a 5-0 roll-call vote; Councilors Brad Dick, Denise Miller, Tom Hicks, Brenda Simons and Mayor Elizabeth Armstrong voted aye. Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Link and Councilor Pam Howd were recorded as absent.
Glass then reviewed the 2026 Tax Request form L-4029. City Treasurer Brooke Card answered questions from a member of the public about how the request relates to the city budget. Councilor Tom Hicks moved to approve the tax request, Councilor Brenda Simons seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
The council also approved a routine consent agenda earlier in the meeting, by motion of Councilor Tom Hicks and seconded by Councilor Brad Dick. The consent agenda included the June 8 meeting minutes, DDA and Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation reappointments, and financial reports; that motion carried 5-0 as well.
No additional fiscal actions or amendments were taken at the meeting. The approved Resolution No. 10-26 and the L-4029 form will be retained in the city’s official records pending any required county or state filings. The council adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
