Rondout Valley board elects new president, approves reorganizational items

A board member nominated Nicole Perez by name for board president; members voted in favor and the motion carried. The board rescheduled its August meeting from Aug. 11 to Aug. 18 to accommodate members’ availability.

One member asked why Bluestone Press was not among the district’s designated official newspapers; administration replied Bluestone is not a weekly, so it is not listed as an official paper while the district continues to communicate with it. Another member flagged an increase in FOIL copy rates from $0.25 to $0.50 per page; administration clarified the charge applies to community FOIL requests to recover supply costs and is not levied against staff copying for school business.
