Two local candidates introduce themselves to Orangeville council; education, water among priorities

"My 3 key priorities are education ... economic growth ... and safeguarding our natural resources," she said, emphasizing rural representation and saying water rights and reliable water access are "one of our most pressing concerns." She described a background in education, leadership training and small-business ownership and asked for the council’s support.
Later in the meeting Mick Robertson introduced his candidacy for clerk/auditor and detailed relevant experience. Robertson said he has worked in IT and within the clerk/treasurer functions, handling budgets, payroll and elections, and argued that institutional knowledge is important as the current auditor retires.
Both presentations were informational; no formal endorsements or actions followed. Council members thanked the speakers and continued with regular business.
