At its July 14 meeting the Rye Brook Board of Trustees approved a package of routine municipal measures, including a contract with DragonTech International to provide virtual chief technology officer services, the use of La Bella Associates for a detailed building‑code review of the 900 King Street PUD, a two‑year workers' compensation renewal with PERMA, and several housekeeping items including budget transfers and minutes approval.
DragonTech: The board authorized an agreement with DragonTech International to act as the village’s virtual chief technology officer to fill responsibilities left by the retirement of longtime IT staff. Materials provided to trustees record the initial agreement term beginning July 1, 2026, and list a monthly fee of $5,000 for services; trustees discussed a two‑year period to allow the vendor and village staff to transition major projects and ensure coverage for ADA‑compliance, security and system rollouts. "This is more acting as our chief technology officer, guiding us on what we need to do from a security standpoint, from a management standpoint," Chris said.
900 King Street (Sunrise Senior Living) review: The board approved contracting La Bella Associates to assist the building department with detailed plan review for the proposed Sunrise Senior Living facility at 900 King Street. The materials estimate the review work at approximately $48,000; Chris and trustees emphasized the cost will be reimbursed by the applicant and that the contract does not relinquish village oversight.
PERMA workers' comp renewal and grant: The board approved a two‑year option with the Public Employer Risk Management Association (PERMA) for workers' compensation coverage through June 30, 2028, a move staff said could reduce first‑year premiums and provide predictability based on the village’s experience rating. Separately the board accepted a PERMA grant for an ice alert kit that includes spinning signage, window clings and a post sign; the meeting transcript lists inconsistent grant amounts (materials reference roughly $1,375 in one place and $1,003.75 elsewhere), but trustees noted the grant is fully funded and will not cost the village.
Other approvals: Trustees authorized the administrator to solicit bids on a best‑value basis for installation of an NFC fitness court studio at Harkness Park using weighted criteria; approved a modification to the recreation fee schedule as published in the meeting materials for a preseason high‑school soccer clinic; accepted a donation of a Harvard air hockey table from Fred Seifer of Carmel (estimated value $550 in the resolution text); approved budget transfers to balance fiscal year accounts and fund a Village Hall stucco/brick repair capital project; and approved minutes for April 28 and May 12, 2026.
What’s next: Staff will implement the approved contracts and report back as needed on procurements and project schedules; the DragonTech agreement and the La Bella review were described as allowing the village to retain oversight while adding technical capacity. The parking‑ticket IMA discussion was tabled for further review.
