Board ratifies audit, reviews unaudited financials and approves emergency street sweeping

Staff then reviewed unaudited financial statements as of Sept. 30, 2024 and identified items for follow-up: General Fund “Engineering” appears at 209% of budget, suggesting some expenditures that should be coded to the Special Revenue Fund; “Contingencies” is at 421% because $4,209 belongs in “Other contractual” as landscaping; the General Fund NPDES reporting filing is $19,805 (about 152% of budget) and the Debt Service (principal & interest) 2022 note shows $74,480 (205% of budget). Mrs. Adams will request paid invoices from Corporate to reconcile entries and correct ledger postings.
Mr. Krebs reported ongoing signage issues (incorrect wording on a sign: should read “Southern Hills Drive,” not “Southern Hills Court”) and widespread rusted lake/wetland signs; Mr. Willis was asked to inspect conservation-area signage and follow up.
Separately, the Board approved an emergency Precision Cleaning, Inc. proposal for storm cleanup street sweeping for a one-time payment of $1,475; the vendor completed eight loads and the Board authorized staff to add additional week-to-week cleanings for the next month if necessary.
The Board also approved minor procedural items including the amended Aug. 27, 2024 minutes and rescheduling the November meeting to Nov. 19, 2024.
