Far West — Beyond the impact fee and Slater project votes, the Far West City Council on July 16 approved several other items on the agenda.
The council approved a business license for Service Experts (applicant Justin Higgins) and approved a sign permit for Utah Physical Therapy at 1741 North 2000 West, Suite 9, after staff confirmed the sign complies with city ordinances.
Council approved Ordinance 2026‑13 to expand sign options in commercial/manufacturing zones near freeway access (including an adjusted maximum freestanding sign height and area within specified frontage limits). The council also set a public hearing for Aug. 6 to consider vacating a public utility easement for Charles and Patty Nielsen and adopted Resolution 2026‑09 establishing a temporary general plan advisory committee to help select a general‑plan consultant.
All motions passed (most unanimously); staff will handle the technical implementation and scheduling for hearings and committee work.
