A less desirable alternative — routing the connection off Edgerton — would require additional engineering and is estimated in the meeting to raise local taxpayer costs by about $200,000, the superintendent said. The superintendent described legal and grant‑funding technicalities with the village’s prior road project that require coordination; village staff and contractors have been engaged in discussions and the superintendent said he expects a solution by the end of July if approvals proceed.
Board members asked which agency issues the right‑of‑way permit; the superintendent said the Hales Corners Department of Public Works handles the permit. The superintendent advised the board that no board action was required at this meeting but that staff will return with updates if problems arise.
