The superintendent said Whitnall currently allows girls to try out for the boys golf team but that some students prefer a girls‑only team. Greendale reported a decline in its own numbers and is open to forming a coop. Under the proposed arrangement the two districts would split program costs and allow Whitnall students access to a girls program without Whitnall bearing the full fixed costs of operating a standalone team.
The superintendent said information was included in the board packet and that the board will consider formal approval at an upcoming meeting if members have no further questions. Board members asked logistical questions — such as home course location and scheduling — and the superintendent said those details would be worked out in cooperation with Greendale if the board approves the coop.
No formal vote occurred on the proposal at the meeting; it was placed on a future agenda for approval.
