The purchase was described as coming from BC Road funds. Council members asked staff and the city accountant to ensure the city could maintain the machine and to check service plans with vendors. After discussion, a motion to approve the purchase at $127,000 was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff will follow up with vendor paperwork and consider maintenance/servicing arrangements to preserve the long-term value of the asset.
