Public commenters raise public‑records concerns and request student transfer; board counsel says no known legal violations

Two members of the public addressed the board during the public‑comment period.

He said he would strongly disagree with claims to the contrary based on his review.

The second commenter, Chris Waldo (who identified himself in the transcript), described seeking a transfer for his daughter to West McDowell Middle School citing childcare needs related to his wife's health and prior bullying incidents at Marion Elementary; he asked the board to remove any sport‑related restrictions associated with a transfer if it is granted. The board indicated staff would follow up, and the chair asked the commenter to speak further with administration after the meeting to try to work through the request.
