On Bellehurst, staff said consultant survey forms and DPRs have required corrections and in‑person verification; the city expects a community meeting next month as part of the pre‑streamline process, after which the item will return to the HPC. Staff said they are reworking DPRs and re‑photographing properties as needed and that the number of contributors vs. noncontributing properties may change after field checks.
Cleveland Knoll is currently in a petition stage: both proponents and opponents are collecting signatures in a six‑month window. "We anticipate we'll get the collected signatures back from the community sometime in fall," staff said. Under the streamlined process, staff will verify signatures and the petition will go to the planning commission for zoning/overlay review and then to city council for final determination; the number of petition signatures will affect vote requirements at council.
Staff cautioned residents about misinformation. "We have had significant reports of misinformation being spread on both sides of the proponent side as well as the opponent side," the staff member said, and urged residents with questions to call the preservation team for neutral explanations of SB 79 and the district guidelines.
No formal action on either district was taken at the meeting; staff reiterated outreach and community meetings will precede further commission or council decisions.
